PRI is an insurance policy specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals who want to rent out their personal motor home, but are looking for proper coverage to do so. In the past, our rental insurance programs have been engineered to accommodate both large and small rental dealers. But now, we are proud to offer PRI as a commercial program exclusively for private motor home owners.
With this policy you must insure your personal RV with American Modern Insurance Group, though MBA. Essentially, PRI will provide the motor home owner and renter coverage during the commercial rental use of the motor home.
The renter has two options for obtaining rental coverage. The renter may choose to provide you, the motor home owner, with a binder or an endorsement from their personal auto insurance carrier. The binder must list you and the rented vehicle as additionally insured. In this case each driver must bring in a binder. If the renter presents you with a valid binder, MBA’s insurance coverage then becomes secondary to the renter’s coverage, still giving you up to $1,000,000 of excess liability coverage.
If the renter does not bring in a binder, they MUST purchase rental coverage directly from MBA insurance for a daily rate based on the value of the motor home being rented.
MBA provides $1,000,000 liability for the motor home owner during the commercial rental use of the motor home. This coverage is excess for the motor home owner during the rental period. When the renter purchases the per day insurance from MBA, the renter is receiving on an excess basis: statutory third party limits of liability, uninsured or underinsured motorists, comprehensive and collision, and medical payments or personal injury protection.
